Fight the present or embrace the future?

The recent Covid-19 pandemic has made businesses everywhere face an extraordinary dilemma: should they fight it, or should they get ready for what comes next?

Let me explain myself: should companies try and manage the crisis, stopping the immediate bleeding (fight) or should they see the crisis as an opportunity for a change (embrace) in the future?

Times like these always come with a high degree of uncertainty and disorientation, understandable lack of control and inevitable commotion. But they also bring out the best in people: great leaders take the stand and help their companies move forward, redefining their strategies and making a positive and tangible difference in people’s lives through real connections and collaboration. They look ahead and make sure their teams are prepared to navigate rough waters and ready for when things are back to normal, and they strive to keep their companies afloat and ahead of the competition.

During these difficult times, Commercial Excellence is more important than ever: securing long term relationships, using environmental drivers to sharpen the position of your company, exploring untapped opportunities, these are just some of the things you can do to ensure your enterprise will be ready once things start to move again. Be aware, things might not be the same as they were before, but it’s our own mindset, and the ability to shift that collective company mindset, that will make the difference.

Some of our clients are getting ready by making Commercial Excellence an essential spend taking advantage of the quarantine period to focus on training their workforce remotely, providing their teams with the right tools and getting them ready for the after-crisis, shifting their priorities and looking at things from a different perspective.

Now it’s not the time to fight the present and fall into complacency, simply because we are given the unique opportunity to unlock our full potential, it’s time to be creative and to believe in change and to do things we never thought possible before. Are you ready for what comes next?
